Advanced RAF Report QA & Editing for Psychometrists (Live on Teams)
The Advanced RAF Report QA & Editing training is designed for professionals who are already working with RAF medico-legal report drafts, including:
- Psychometrists who currently assist with RAF medico-legal report drafting under supervision; and/or
- Practitioners who review, quality-assure, and edit existing report drafts (e.g., checking structure, traceability, consistency, duplication, tone and defensibility).
This module focuses specifically on QA and editing of an existing draft (court-readiness polishing and defensibility checks). It is most suitable if you are already active in medico-legal report environments and want a structured, repeatable QA workflow.
Scope note: This training supports psychometrist-level editing and QA. Final clinical formulation, diagnosis, and medico-legal opinion remain the supervising psychologist/neuropsychologist’s responsibility.
Platform: Live on Microsoft Teams
Duration: 60 minutes
Includes: QA templates + checklists + editing tools + mini workbook exercise
Ideal as a follow-on: after the Report Writing Training or once you already understand the basic sections of an RAF report.
What you will learn (clear outcomes)
You will learn how to apply a consistent QA method to an existing RAF report draft, including:
- Structural checks (section order, logic flow, completeness)
- Clarity and language tightening (professional tone, ambiguity reduction)
- Consistency checks (dates, names/placeholders, terminology, repetition)
- Evidence/source traceability checks (what supports each statement)
- Defensibility checks (medico-legal wording discipline and risk flags)
- A practical “final pass” workflow you can repeat on every case
How the 1-hour session works (what happens in the training)
We work through a practical, repeatable editing approach:
The 4 Topic QA Method
Topic 1 – Structure & Placement
Ensure information is in the correct section (interview vs collateral vs findings) and headings flow correctly.
Topic 2 – Evidence Traceability
Label key statements clearly (Reported / Records / Observed / Testing suggests). Remove unsupported certainty and add appropriate limitations/deference where information is missing.
Topic 3 – Consistency & Duplication Control
Cross-check dates, injuries, GCS/LOC/PTA, imaging findings, scores and summaries. Remove repeated paragraphs and use short references instead.
Topic 4 – Tone & Defensibility
Refine medico-legal language: neutral, careful, precise, and within scope.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to do the Report Writing Training first?
Not necessarily, but you should understand basic RAF report sections to get the most value.
Is this only for neuropsych reports?
No — the QA method applies to both neuropsychological and clinical RAF drafts.
Will we edit a real report in the session?
We use de-identified examples. You can optionally apply the method to your own draft afterwards.
Scope and Supervision?
Always provide psychometric assessment support and drafting assistance as part of a psychologist-led medico-legal workflow. The supervising psychologist conducts their own clinical engagement, reviews all work, and finalises and signs the report prior to submission.
